今年平溪天燈節以「金蛇呈祥」為主題，主燈設計融合了蛇年意象與傳統天燈元素，祈願新的一年財源滾滾、好運連連。 更創新推出「天燈蛇影」光雕秀，栩栩如生的金蛇在天燈與施放民眾間穿梭，營造出「好運蛇進來」的溫馨氛圍。 百盞天燈冉冉升空，與金蛇共舞，點亮平溪夜空，為新年帶來無限希望。
國際交流，展現台灣文化魅力：
開幕活動更邀請美國在台協會處長、觀光旅遊局長及國際扶輪社社長等貴賓共同題字，並有來自17個國家超過50位國際交換學生參與天燈施放，展現平溪天燈節的國際化魅力。 活動代言人李多慧也參與其中，為活動增添亮點。
元宵節再續盛會：
第二場天燈施放活動將於2月12日(元宵節)在十分廣場舉行，邀請大家一同感受充滿愛與祝福的氛圍。

The highly anticipated “2025 New Taipei City Pingxi Lantern Festival” launched on February 8th! New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-Yi attended the opening ceremony, releasing a golden serpent-shaped main lantern symbolizing good fortune along with other distinguished guests. The inaugural “Good Fortune Serpent Arrives” sky lantern light show featured a lifelike golden serpent gracefully dancing amongst the lanterns and participants, creating a breathtaking scene of prayer and celebration!
Golden Serpent Blessing, Praying for the New Year:
This year’s Pingxi Lantern Festival is themed “Golden Serpent Auspiciousness,” with the main lantern incorporating serpent imagery and traditional lantern elements, signifying wealth and good fortune in the coming year. The innovative “Sky Lantern Serpent Shadow” light show features a lifelike golden serpent swirling across the ground, gracefully weaving between the sky lanterns and participants, culminating in its arrival at the main lantern. Hundreds of sky lanterns ascended into the night sky, dancing with the golden serpent, carrying people’s wishes and illuminating Pingxi with hope and blessings for the new year.
International Exchange, Showcasing Taiwan’s Cultural Charm:
The opening ceremony included distinguished guests such as the Director of the American Institute in Taiwan, the Director of the Tourism and Travel Bureau, and the founding president of the Taipei Global Rotary Club. Over 50 international exchange students from 17 countries participated in the lantern release, highlighting the international appeal of the Pingxi Lantern Festival. Celebrity Li Duo-Hui also participated, adding to the excitement.
Lantern Festival Continues the Celebration:
The second lantern release event will take place on February 12th (Lantern Festival) at the Shifen Plaza, inviting everyone to experience the atmosphere of love and blessings.
